Multiple Regions Impose Stricter Activated Carbon Controls on VOCs Emitters
(Zhengzhou, China – September 2026) – Environmental authorities in multiple regions have recently introduced stricter controls on VOCs-emitting enterprises. Chaozhou now mandates that projects using activated carbon adsorption must use qualified granular carbon with an iodine value of no less than 800 mg/g, prohibits the use of inferior honeycomb carbon, and sets a replacement cycle of no more than 500 hours-21. At the same time, the national platform for standards has published Technical Specification for Industrial Organic Waste Gas Treatment by Activated Carbon Adsorption, effective October 1, 2026, applicable to VOCs treatment facilities across more than ten industries including furniture, printing, coating, and pharmaceuticals-.
This policy escalation is transforming activated carbon from an “option” into a “compliance requirement.” For enterprises, selecting carbon with verified iodine values and consistent batch quality is not only the basis for meeting emission standards but also an effective way to reduce total operating costs.
Yuncheng Offers Coal-Based Columnar and Honeycomb Activated Carbon for VOCs Treatment
Yuncheng provides coal-based columnar activated carbon and honeycomb activated carbon for the VOCs treatment market. Coal-based columnar carbon has an iodine value ≥400 mg/g (for desulfurization), abrasion resistance ≥97%, suitable for fixed-bed adsorption systems. Honeycomb activated carbon has an iodine value ≥600 mg/g, axial compression ≥0.9 MPa, and low pressure drop, ideal for high-flow, low-concentration waste gas scenarios.
